I love donuts. I love donuts so much that these cakes seem like a really good idea to me.
Unfortunately, loving donuts can lead to a really big butt. Trust me on this. So I try to keep my donut eating to a minimum. When I can't take the self discipline any more, I make Pioneer Woman's French Breakfast Puffs. They're the next best thing to a real donut.
But my beloved mother-in-law has come to my rescue with this little number:
As a (very thoughtful) thank-you for knitting a baby hat for one of her friends' grandchildren, she gifted me with a donut pan and the donut mix. I think they were in the house for a matter of minutes before I had those babies mixed up and in the oven. The verdict: darn tasty. And here's the good part: 160 calories for one of the big chocolate ones. Yum. There are recipes included with the pan too, so I'll try one of those next.
Ge your own here!
Thanks Glenda!
